Ideally, I will assume, egrets prefer to chase prey facing into the wind but the reality is that finned meals are unlikely to stay windward of their attackers. When an egret, in this case a snowy egret, chases a mummichog with a strong breeze at its back feathers ruffle and neatness is lost. However, this photographer was thrilled with the moment.
