Bald Cypress in Snow

January 1, 2011

Delaware is the northernmost limit of Bald Cypress trees. These are the trees that dominate the swamps of the south, often with long strands of Spanish Moss hanging from their branches. It seems strange to see them surrounded with ice and snow and it is that image that led me to a cypress swamp a few days ago to photograph them in a winter scene. This photograph was made shortly after sunrise.
