Ailanthus Webworm Moth

October 1, 2009

I stopped this evening to look closely at Goldenrod growing adjacent to the marsh. Clinging to the yellow flowers was this Ailanthus Webworm Moth which frequents meadows from southern New England south to the Gulf of Mexica and west to Michigan. Good to know that the edge of wetlands are like a meadow.
