I lucked upon a Heron this morning who was more hungry than wary, and I was able to photograph it while it very successfully fished for breakfast. The plumage is typical of a young Great Blue Heron in it’s first year. This one had the water it was working in all to itself and a lot of fish for the taking. The last picture in this post shows what a bait fish’s last sight might look like.
