Fun facts to know and share. According to AI Google search, scientists estimate that there are about 8.7 million species of plants and animals on earth but that only about 1.3 to 1.5 million animal species have been identified and described and that includes insects, mollusks and others in addition to vertebrates. I would have guessed that humans hold the title for highest animal population but I was so wrong. Ants hold that spot with an estimated 20 quadrillion individuals. There are merely a little over 8 billion humans on the planet but there are also about 7 billion brown rats so we are in good company. I looked these statistics up as I was thinking about how dominant humans are on the planet. Impact wise we are extraordinarily impactful and i will not put a value assertion on that. My inclusion of two gulls figuring it out is a message, can’t we all just get along, get along with ourselves and get along better with the other species we share this planet with. Well, can we? Time will tell.
