I am guessing that, like me, birds of the marsh like this Clapper Rail are looking forward to tall green marsh grasses dominating wetlands again. The heavy snow of February 23 flattened the brown remains of last year’s marsh growth so we are experiencing pancake flat detritus marsh surface. I’m sure new grass growth will be welcomed by marsh inhabitants.
