So often Great Blue Herons look pretty much just gray and white to me. I shot this one flying over water in Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge three months ago on a calm April morning. Green leaves and brown reeds on the distant bank reflected in the water as the heron flew past me. It became obvious where the blue in their name came from.
