My breakfast was found very easily this morning, right in my kitchen. I stopped by the marsh on the way into work and found a large group of Snowy Egrets wading in the shallows working hard to find fish for their breakfast. This sequence shows one of the lucky ones who took the suggestion ‘dive in’ literally.

In the third photo, he looks like he has the fish by the head…later he is holding the fish by the midsection. How does the egret adjust a squirming fish without dropping it back in the water? Pretty darn skillful, I’d say!
