As I write this the heat index here is 97.6 with a very light breeze wafting across Lewes from the ocean. Just inland a few miles, where the Seabreeze doesn’t reach, it feels like 107, according to weather data accessed from my computer. The heat wave should break with a front passing through tomorrow but I am dreaming, today, about the cool days of fall with goldenrod in bloom on the dunes. Can you feel it? Breathe deeply.
