The waves that Hurricane Idalia sent to the Delaware coast over the Labor Day weekend offered opportunities for many to get into the water for fun. It is interesting to see what water ‘vehicle’ is chosen for riding waves or skimming over the last inch of water as a wave expends its energy washing up onto the beach. I photographed people on surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kneeling paddle boards, skim boards and just plain bare feet having a great time in the last weekend of summer at the beach.
