I attended the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association’s annual meeting, and celebration of its 100th year anniversary, in Atlantic City NJ this past week. I was honored to serve as president and executive director of the organization a few years ago and I enjoyed attending the meeting this week on the Jersey shore where ASBPA was started in 1926. As a photographer I couldn’t go home without seeking a few photo ops. Despite the BRIGHT midday light (not my preferred light quality for outdoors photography) this composition was too good to pass up. Iconic elements in fall on the Jersey shore are Monarch Butterflies on goldenrod in the dunes, and having that subject in front of Lucy the elephant in Margate was a great moment.
