I had planned to get out to some Chesapeake Bay spots to photograph ducks this winter and managed to procrastinate that until I was almost too late to find my desired species. I very much wanted to photograph canvasbacks, and I did find them today in good numbers. I also had the pleasure of being in the presence of many lesser scaups (small bluebills) in good early morning light. This one was swimming right toward me with purpose. Canvasback photographs coming soon so check back in over the next few days. I got a lot of nice images.
