Male and female Canvasback’s couldn’t be more different in their color pattern. Both are beautiful birds and have similar body and head shapes but the males are so distinctive while the females are adapted to blending in and being less noticed by potential predators, I assume. I was able to get nice portrait shot of both genders a few days ago so today I am posting the pretty side of these seemingly docile ducks. Tomorrow, however, I will show you another side of these ‘aristocrat of ducks’.
