When I went out last evening to shoot sunset over frozen Delaware Bay I had this vision in mind. The low angle of the sun, just before it set, casting warm red rays through the fishing pier pilings was what I envisioned and hoped for. The still, iced surface of the bay showed shadow and light better than moving water would I speculated and it worked out well. Stripes on the ice I call it. I also hoped that after the sun fully dipped below the horizon the low bank of clouds would be lit up from below. If you saw my post yesterday you saw that my hopes became reality.
