I haven’t been going out for sunrise landscape photography as much as I used to, but I want to correct that. Being out in a natural setting well before the sun actually rises above the horizon is good for the soul, and who does’t need that? Last night I looked into the weather forecast for this morning. Conditions seemed promising, a little more moisture in the air which helps refract sunlight (more reds), little wind and slightly warmer air than it has been. Partly cloudy skies added the possibility of color well across the sky. So I packed up my gear and was out the door in pitch black. The anticipated colorful conditions did not materialize as I had hoped/envisioned but there was a warm glow in the sky well before the sun showed itself. This was shot 50 minutes before actual sunrise.
