I have not posted anything for a few days so I am catching up. The Snow Goose setting down as the sun sets was taken at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge on February 7. Primehook Refuge today began with another spectacular sunrise. Early spring is in the air at the refuge. Birds are starting mating behavior and the marshes, fields and woods are alive with songs. Red-winged Blackdirds have invaded the marsh in large numbers and their unmistakable songs go on right into sunset. The two shown here were photographed this afternoon as the sun set below the trees.
