I don’t recall that I have ever stared into the eyes of a Mud Turtle before, but tonight I had the chance to do just that. Who knew they were so green.

I attempted some photos of a snapping turtle (trying unsuccessfully to lay eggs in grass outside our hotel) in Indiana– they definitely didn’t come out as good as these!!
