This Great Egret was photographed last month in Pamlico Sound. I was able to get just below it while it rested in an island tree top. It watched me for a little while then, without much warning, it lifted off into the wind.

YOU ARE GOING TO KILL ME, AND JUSTIFIBLY SO, I KNOW, BUT THE EGRET, WITH THE YELLOW BEAK AND BLACK LEGS IS PROBABLY A GREAT EGRET AND NOT A SNOWY. T HE SNOWY HAS A BLACK BEAK AND BLACK LEGS.

Bill, You are so right. I know better than that and can only blame trying to get something new posted and hurryiing the text portion once the photos are set. Thanks for paying close attention. I will not likley have an opportunity to post anything new for about a week so these will have to sustain for a while.
