What started as a very warm sunny beach day here on the OBX turned on a dime as a cold front passed through and wind went from5 to 25 in a matter of minutes. Pamlico Sound’s surface consisted of ripples inches high in the morning but, with the passage of the front midday, white caps popped up and so did the kite boarders. I enjoyed photographing very skilled boarders enjoying great wind. Here is a sample, lots of air followed by a hard splash down with great flare.
